fifteen hundred people, including over two hundred school principals/educators who
attended the concert along with their families.
Lamp Lighting Ceremony

Mr Arun Kumar Rath, Secretary, School Education and Literacy, Government of India
was the chief guest.
Titled “Tune into Tomorrow”, the concert was a tribute to the dedicated school leaders
and educators preparing our future generations to tune into tomorrow.
Magic Being Created

The evening began with a prelude. A high-level overview on the basics of music was
presented, using a specially created capsule in SmartClass format. This was followed
by a preview of the SmartClass program – a path breaking, innovative program from
Educomp which has impacted over thousands of schools, teachers and millions of students
bringing back the joy of learning through futuristic technologies and methodologies.

In tune with the spirit of the event, the music started with “Shankara”, an ode
to the Guru. Amongst the mesmerizing numbers that were sung during the concert was
the Hindi song “Tere Mere Beech Mein Kaisa Hai Ye Bandhan…”, specially sung by Dr
SPB in response to a request from the chief guest, Sri Arun Rath.
Throughout the concert, the enthralled audience was also treated to rib tickling
humor and repartee between the irrepressible duo of SPB & YGeeM who made gentle
pot shots at contemporary film music and singers, including themselves.

In between songs and jokes, SPB also shared interesting anecdotes such as the experience
he had with the late MGR [Former C.M. of Tamil Nadu] who postponed the shooting
of a song so that SPB [who was unwell then] could sing it!!
The audiences were also privy to another anecdote of his about the thespian Shivaji
Ganesan who adapted his own acting to the singing style of SPB so as to encourage
the singer!!
In the closing words of SPB, the memorable concert came to an end.
It was a late Poornima night by the time the educators finally but reluctantly let
him go.
