The PSBB Millennium School has carved a niche for itself at the global level by securing the third position in the international quiz conducted by The Israel Center for Excellence.
Twenty one schools worldwide participated in this synchronized quiz, conducted online for 7th Standard Science. The activity took place on November 19th 2009 between 20:30 and 22:30 Indian Standard Time.
Conducted online, the students answered the questions posed to them in the Quiz (to the participating Schools). This was done in the quiet of the Computer Center at the Porur Campus. Earlier on 29th of October, a trial run was conducted by the dedicated team of Science and Computer Lab teachers to ensure that every aspect was taken care of and the methodology understood. Technical details were taken care of and communication with the Israel Center for Excellence established for greater clarity.
The PSBB Millennium School, Porur Branch was selected as the only school from India to participate in an International Online Quiz organized by the Israel Center of Excellence, Israel. After a preliminary round of uncompromising elimination process, twenty students across the five sections of Grade 7 were selected by the School, to represent The PSBB Millennium School and the country to participate in this quiz. Braving the tough competition posed to them by the schools from the USA , the UK and Israel, the students stood their ground with minds focused to answer challenging questions. The midnight air was rent with cheers of applause and celebration at The PSBB Millennium School as the winners were announced.
The participants took great pride in being the only school to represent the Asian continent. They showed amazing determination, teamwork and tenacity to reach the hallmark of fame. They also showed maturity for their age. The hard work over the past three weeks put in by the children and the teachers who were responsible for both training and getting the entire act together paid off rich dividends!
The PSBB Millennium school is now well and truly on the global map.
