Mahiti Sindhu Project

The objectives of the project are:

Provide free computer education to the students of select Government schools in the state of Karnataka.
Help subject teachers teach the hard spots with the help of content CD ROM’s available in the lab.
Train the subject teachers on basics of computers and its application in teaching.


Educomp is one of the participants in this project. This project runs on a turnkey basis, where Educomp will make the entire investment and the Government will pay in equated quarterly installments for 5 years. Educomp will also set up the entire infrastructure. The number of computers in the lab varies between 6 and 15 computers. Educomp has already implemented the project in 50 Govt. High Schools in Kolar and Chikamagalur Districts of Karnataka. Educomp has received an award to implement the project in 88 schools in Karnataka. Under this model the Government will provide the following:
 
1.
A room with concrete roofing, windows with grills for better safety and security.
2.
3 phase electricity up to the room.
3. Floor should be properly finished. In case there is no AC, exhaust fans will be provided.
 
Scope of the contract:
Educomp will set up a multimedia lab based on the specifications given by the Govt.
Run the program with the help of two teachers at each location for 5 years with emphasis on hands on practice. Each class is allotted at least 4 periods per week, out of which 2 periods are dedicated for subject [other than computer] teaching with the help of subject teachers and remaining two periods are used for computer teaching.
