Gateforum Students shine in GATE 2011; Twenty One students in Top Ten and 141 Students in Top 100 across 7 streams of Engineering

Gateforum today announced excellent performance by its students in GATE 2011, results for which were announced yesterday. GATE 2011 attracts 5.5 lakh students making it the second largest competitive exam after IIT-JEE.

Twenty One Gateforum students have got top 10 ranks in GATE 2011 in 7 streams of engineering and 141 in Top 100. This means that there are 21 Gateforum students among the top 70 students (7 streams x top 10 ranks) across India. This includes All India Rank 1 in Electronics and Communications Engineering and All India Rank 1 in Instrumentation Engineering. Also 141 students are among the top 100 across 7 streams of engineering.

The number of students appearing in GATE has also substantially increased from 4.2 lakhs in GATE 2010 to 5.5 lakhs in GATE 2011, making it the second largest competitive test in India, behind only the AIEEE.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an All-India Examination conducted by the Seven IITs and IISC, Bangalore, on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India.
